3D Tool Box Card for Father's Day
Here's a bit of paper crafting for your DIY Father's Day card — a cool surprise pop-up tool box card! The tools inside spell out 'Happy Father's Day'. It's a bit of a geeky thing to do but we think any dad who loves his tool box would love this. Not strictly a craft for kids, but make it together and enjoy doing so!
How to make this toolbox Father's Day card
- Print the template on good quality card or thick paper — the structure needs to hold its shape when the card opens.
- Score all fold lines carefully with an empty ballpoint pen before cutting anything out.
- Cut out all the pieces, including the individual tool shapes. Use a craft knife for the fiddly inside cuts.
- Fold the toolbox base and sides and glue together using the tabs. Allow to dry fully before the next step.
- Arrange the tools inside the box — the letters of 'Happy Father's Day' are distributed across the tools, so lay them out in order before gluing.
- Glue the tool shapes into the box in order, spelling out the message. Attach the lid so it can be opened to reveal the tools inside.
- Write a personal message on the inside of the lid or the back of the card.
