3D Alphabet Templates

Each letter template is in black outline with grey shading on the sides — when printed on coloured paper, the shading creates a darker tone for a more realistic 3D effect. The font is based on a bold 3D-styled typeface that works perfectly when made into actual standing letters.

How to make 3D paper letters

1. Spell out names, words or quotes. Plan your colour combination and print each letter on your chosen coloured paper — heavy cardstock works best for durability.

2. Cut the solid outlines and score all dotted lines firmly with an empty ballpoint pen for clean folds. The front face of the letter connects to the sides via tabs. There are additional side strips to cut and score separately. The back panel is optional — useful if you want the letters to stand as objects, but not needed for wall display.

3. Start by attaching the separate side strips to the main body first. Place the main letter printed-side down, fold up the attachment tabs and apply glue or double-sided tape. Carefully match each side strip to its correct position — there are several strips per letter — and press corners together tightly to avoid gaps. Once all side strips are attached, fold and glue the remaining tabs around the edge.

The rear tabs can be used to tape or glue letters to the wall, or to attach the back panel for a fully enclosed letter. They also help the letter keep its shape.

Display ideas

Spell kids' names for nursery or bedroom wall art. Use bold primary colours for a playful look, or pastels for something softer. They also work beautifully as bookshelf decoration, desk displays, or party lettering for banners and table centrepieces.
