Useful tips on making your file folder game
Our reader Karen Phang kindly sent us this tip to share. Thank you!
“It’s a good idea to use velcro for the loose pieces of the file folder game. It helps to improve toddler’s fine motor skills.”
It’s a good idea to laminate all cut out pieces as I find that toddlers do not always handle them with care. With lamination, they tend to last longer.
Hot-glued velcro works great, I bought some from a fabric shop that already came with hot glue on both sides of the velcro. Just cut them into about 1 cm pieces, stick one side to the cut out piece and the other to the game board and you are ready to go!
You can also print them onto magnetic paper so the pieces stick to the game board when placed!
